Which automatic litter box fits your cats?

Enter your cats and your space. The checker rules out any box whose listing puts your lightest cat under its sensor minimum or your heaviest over its limit, and any box that has too many cats, the wrong litter, or too much size. Then it divides each drawer claim by your cat count.
Automatic litter box fit checker
An estimate from the numbers on each listing and maker page. Days between emptying is the maker's claim divided by your cat count. Where the maker does not say how many cats the claim assumes, we treat it as one cat. Leave room around the box too: Whisker says the Litter-Robot 4 must not touch a wall.

"On paper" means nothing on the listing rules it out. The CATLINK listing does not name a litter type in the part we read, and the ScoopFree Clumping gives no weight or age range, so both pass checks they may not really meet. Ask the maker before you count on either for a kitten or a special litter.
How the checker decides
- Lightest cat: the minimum weight on each listing. Whisker's FAQ explains why it matters: the Litter-Robot 4 scale will not recognize a kitten under 3 lb, and Whisker says such kittens should not use it in automatic mode.
- Kittens: PETKIT PuraMax 2 and PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Pro are ruled out for any cat under 6 months. PetSafe says its ScoopFree works best with cats older than 6 months.
- Heaviest cat: the upper weight on each listing. PetSafe says the ScoopFree is best for cats under 15 lb. Whisker says the Litter-Robot 4 has no upper limit.
- Cat count: only where the maker states a number. Four for the Litter-Robot 4 and Leo's Loo Too, three for the Neakasa.
- Days: the maker claim divided by your cats. Whisker's own guidance fits this: about once a week for one cat, twice a week for two.
- Space: the listed length, width and height, turned either way on the floor.
What the checker cannot know
It cannot know if your cat will accept the box, whether a 15 lb cat is long or compact, or how humid your room is. PetSafe says humidity shortens tray life. The 2021 AAHA and AAFP feline guidelines also suggest a box at least one and a half times the cat's length from nose to tail tip, which rules out many boxes for big cats. Use the result as a short list.
